Canada Railway Strike Update
Dear Valued Customers,
As per our update last week regarding the strike by the Canadian railway companies CPKC and CN, the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) has stepped in and requested them to resume operations, ending the lockout initiated on Thursday, August 22nd, in order to get the Canadian economy moving again as quickly as possible and avoid further disruption to the supply chain.
The CIRB will be convening a case management meeting with the parties this Thursday, August 29th, to discuss the imposition of final binding interest arbitration. Attached is the notices from both CPKC and CN for your reference.
We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as soon as practicable to keep you informed of any changes to your service. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your sales representative and our offices; we are happy to assist with your questions and concerns.
