Current Operation Status of West Coast Terminals
Dear Customer,
Due to the failed consensus between PMA and ILWU, the dockworker absences since last Friday forced several terminals at West Coast to halt operations and impacted cargo flows at other facilities.
Except for LA/LB, the operations at the Port of Seattle have been significantly impacted by poor work productivity, leading to its closure. On Wednesday (June 7th), the Port of Seattle experienced a complete shutdown as dockworkers were off due to crane productivity being only around 30% of the normal level. At the same time, Tacoma's operations were still ongoing, despite of the crane productivity at only approximately 50% of the normal level.
As far as we seen, most of the USWC terminals could remain functional but turned to be a bit slow down. We would suggest you make a pre-plan as the time leads of both pick up and return the containers will be much longer than before due to the lack of manpower.
