Potential EC Strike Pre-action Advisory

Dear all customers,

We would like to inform you of the proactive measures that we suggest you implement to mitigate any potential impact to your cargo in light of the anticipated disruption to East and Gulf Coasts services starting Tuesday, October 1, 2024, due to a potential strike action (port disruption).

For NA Imports via U.S. East Coast and Gulf Coasts:

We encourage you to pick up their import cargo prior to September 30, 2024.

Ports are advising reefers may or will not be monitored while ports are closed during the port disruption, but it’s subject to the actual port operations on terminals.

Current bookings: there may be necessary vessel rotation changes. Carriers will contact any customers affected by these for necessary action and USPTI team will keep you updated.

 New Import Bookings:

o            Transpacific and Transatlantic Trade

          Currently, these will continue to accept local and inland bookings and will adjust as needed.

For the Detention and Demurrage, it will follow terminals and carriers’ policy.

Change of destination (COD):

o            COD requests are accepted per our standard process but subject to availability.

If you have any questions, please contact your sales rep or our US teams for your shipments. Thank you.
