Update of New China Covid Lockdown

Dear customers,

In view of recent serious outbreak of Covid-19 at China, USPTI would like to give you a brief update of current situation. We will keep you posted if any further update.

Due to serious outbreak of Covid-19, Shenzhen went into lockdown for 7 days till 3/20/2022. All business were ordered to close or work from home except for essential business. Cases have also surged in Shanghai, where new restrictions are in place. Schools are closed and a highway was blocked to limit the transportation. The epidemic situation might also become serious at Qingdao and we’re monitoring it. Ningbo so far is fine but they’re also taking stricter policy to prevent from the spread of coronavirus.

  • Port terminal and vessel operation stay normal
  • Landside transportation is dynamic subject to change

Trucking service for now is still available providing the drivers hold negative Nucleic Acid Test (NAT) report requested by local governments. We foresee the overall trucking operational efficiency will be reduced significantly due to the frequent NATs, especially in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, West Pearl River Delta, Shanghai, Yangtze inland ports, Qingdao and Tianjin.

  • Warehouse in Shenzhen are closed for a week while others are normal for now

Warehouses in Shenzhen will remain closed from 3/14 to 3/20 during lockdown.

Warehouses in Shanghai and Qingdao keep operations for now. However drivers are requested to show health code for cargo delivery and need negative NAT report within 48 hours in case they are from medium-high risk area.
